Dead Space 2 is the second game of the Dead Space series. It's a third person shhoter game with horror and terror effects. Your character is Isaac Clarke, who you see from behind and on his back you see your vitals and stats. Gameplay is like a mix of tomb raider and Doom/Quake series. The game engine is very well developed by Visceral Games and it's published by Electronic Arts.
Like many games of this genre, in Dead Space 2 you have hi-tech weapons and gadgets against zombies an aliens. There is just enough blood and the sound effects are much more realistic than expected. The alien organisms have tentacles which they use to infect and control dead human bodies. These bodies are then called necromorphs and you job is to kill the aliens so that you can free the corpses to die peacefully.
The game story starts at a hospital on Saturn's moon Titan, where you wake up and notice that you have no memory of the last few years. You have to find the marker and destroy it for you escape, but there are people you can trust and people you can't trust. You have to make your own decisions and find your own solutions to upcoming problems.
The game atmosphere usually has normal gravity,but there are some parts where the gravity goes 0 G. In these places you can use Isaac's jetpack thrusters to fly around.
The first Dead Space game had no multiplayer mode but in this second version you have the chance to play multiplayer. You can team up to four people and try to win the quest against four necromorphs. The weapons you can use in a multiplayer game unlocked as you level up in the game.
Dead Space 2 was ranked nearly perfect by most of the game magazines and it should be. The visuals and sounds are so realistic that you really feel like you're the only one who can save human kind against those zombie making aliens. Even the intro of the game makes you feel like the world is coming to an end and you have to fight to save it.
